I’m Amy or Miss Amy to my students I have a fine art degree and studied painting at PAFA in Philadelphia. I most recently graduated from Tyler School of Art, Temple University where I studied Art Education and Community Arts and received my teaching degree.

I’ve been teaching fine art classes at Engage Art Studio, a community art center in Schwenksville PA, for almost 7 years now. I was a student teacher at Great Valley Middle School and also have experience teaching remotely with the GoggleWorks in Reading and Tyler’s “Into-Art” high school art workshops. I recently joined The Michener Art Museum as adjunct faculty where I teach children and adults in the museum’s Art Ed program as well as doing in-school workshops.

I’m really interested in the therapeutic effects of art education and teaching in a trauma informed way. I created and facilitate a class called Inside-Out which is a therapeutic/expressive art class for adolescents. I also hold a certificate as a therapeutic art coach(different than an art therapist)

I’ve been creating art for as long as I can remember. I specialize in drawing and painting although I have dabbled in just about every art form. Currently I do a lot of portraiture, working in watercolor. Check out the shop section of this site to order a custom painting. I also love to do murals and have experience with a wide variety of styles. I’ve painted everything from fairytale scenes for little girl’s bedroom walls, to French landscapes in restaurants, to the exterior of a10 story building. I even do signs and logos for various businesses. When I have time for my personal work, I have been exploring nature themes through experimenting with different watercolor techniques. I let my personal work inform the way I teach and in turn, I am inspired by my classes and students to try new things in the studio. I see my teaching as part of my creative process.
